Riley Henderson (American, 1987-), born in Hollywood, CA, spent most of his life growing up in and around the city of Chicago. He has earned his BFA in Photography from Columbia College Chicago with the graduating class of 2009. His ongoing work, revolves around the idea of identity politics and socio-political climates within American culture today. With work ranging from industrial landscapes to highly directed satirical commentaries on race, class, and gender, Rileys photographic work grabs at many different threads running through American life as he sees it. With hopes to question and at times, scrutinize the system that we live in, Riley intends to continue producing work pertaining to this vast array of issues. Currently, Riley has exhibited in such shows as "Identity Crisis" held by Bronzeville B-Spaces (06/26/09) and "Manifest: BA/ BFA Photography Show" held by Columbia College Chicago (05/15/2009). Rileys hope is to begin working and displaying on a grand public scale. Using similar techniques used by advertising firms to make people question the reality that they live and absorb every day. Keep your eyes peeled!
